WE HELD TOGETHER THE FRAGILE SKY TO KEEP OUR WAY OF LIFE

[Occurs after until the sky falls]

The dawning revelation was like a slap in the face but in a strangely good way. This oddly familiar black and white, green eyed pegasus wasn't odd at all, nor was she just familiar. She's Iona, in the flesh. The young girl's heart pounds in her chest and her slender body quivers with barely contained excitement. Part of her longed to ask Petyr to bite her with his small but sharp beak; to inflict pain that could wake her from this dream. It is a small part, however, that is easily overruled by her boisterous and gullible inner child.

Iona's green eyes mirrored the flare of recognition in her own. Effectively silencing the doubtful sourpuss inside the young girl. The girl who'd grown solemn over the past several months, suddenly beams with the joy that her mother often possessed. It was a lightness of spirit but also an ever youthful, genuine happiness spreading like wildfire through her veins. Naerys stood a little taller, her teal eyes sparkling with giddy laughter. Oh! Wouldn't mother be so excited? She had found Iona. She would be the one to bring her mother's twin home. It took a sincere amount of effort to keep from erupting with squeals and giggles. Fortunately, however, her aunt's voice bursts the bubble of silence surrounding them. Iona's compliment causes heat to rise in Naerys' cheeks and face once more. The wink and gentle nudge from her wing only causing an awkward bashfulness to rise up in the young girl. "Me?!" she squeaks in surprise. Teal eyes widening for a moment, then she swallows forcefully and continues. "I... no, not me. I'm nothing special." she adds with a slight shrug, her front hooves fidgeting and playing with the dirt and flowers in front of her.

Naerys is grateful for the silence that ensued. Rather glad for the few moments to regain her composure. Just as she lifted her gaze once more, the mare spoke. This time, she couldn't hold back the wide grin. "Of course!" she readily replies. "We'll have to walk, though. Petyr can't fly yet." she explains, gesturing with a slightly movement of her head towards the green bird on her shoulders. Petyr, only days (maybe weeks) old, is still quite helpless. Without some way to safely carry him, the young girl had found herself earthbound. "Don't worry, it's not far. We'll be home in no time." she adds, offering her aunt a reassuring smile before turning around and aiming herself on the path back to the World's Edge to the west.

She moves as quickly as she's comfortable with young Petyr on her back, her small hooves and long legs carrying her with ease across the lands. First, she slips back into the deep forest. Weaving expertly between the thick trees and through the underbrush scattered over the ground. Once the girl is free of the forest, she picks up the pace - eager to find her mother. The land between the forest and home is rather open, allowing for the young girl to transition rather easily into a swift but easy lope. Her trail of flowers acting almost like breadcrumbs. She had no doubt that Iona could keep up. No doubt at all. As she neared the border of her home, she glanced over her shoulder to make sure that Iona was still there. "Careful of the glass shards!" she calls out in warning. Naerys leaps over the shattered remains of the glass wall then slows to a walk before stopping a few feet in from the wall.

"MAMA!" she shrieks, her barely contained excitement no longer barely contained. Exhilarated from the journey, she glances back at Iona then scans the trees and mist of the Edge for any signs of life. Her patience in that moment, however, is short lived. "Mamamamamama!" she shouts as she takes off for mother's usual locations. "MAMA! Where are you?!" She adds rather loudly and unaware of just how much of a commotion she was likely causing. Her joy and childish excitement could not be contained, not at a moment like this.
