Hemlock swooped over the filly again, hooting happily at her - distracting her from the scene with her mother. Alysanne would make short work of it, he knew - she wasn’t one to let someone suffer for longer than needed. All she was looking for was consent before she took another step forward. All of her movements, her manners, were soft and gentle - it hardly mattered that this mare was much taller than her, everyone showing the signs that this mare showed received a motherly approach from the Moon Doctor.
The mare’s submissive demeanour worried her and she looked to Tembovu, sharing in his concerned glance. What had happened before this mare discovered Helovia? This was, of course, not the right time to ask - nor would Alysanne ever pry. She just found herself hoping that it was something they could help her with, help her heal from. There were kind horses in this herd that would welcome this mare and her filly happily. She found that she was rather thankful Tembovu had found the pair instead of someone else - he had a good heart (from what she had seen of him so far). And his shift to stand closer to the new mare would have made her smile if she did not have other things to focus on.
“Hold still, it won’t hurt - I promise. Some mists are going to rise up and touch you, but they're just going to take away the pain.” Alysanne was entirely focused, and encouraging and soft expression on her face as she explained the process. She did not want anything to startle the mare - everything about this was safe, harmless. Closing her green eyes to focus, the Moon Doctor called on the dark mists. They did not answer immediately but she soon found them, relief crashing over her in a wave as she opened her eyes again and directed the healing magic toward the wounds - bathing the dark pegasus in a cool, dark wind. Mist was never quite the right word for the rush of dark wind but it was the closest word that her mind could come up with to describe the magic.
When she released the magic, the darkness receded and faded back into the earth and the forest - leaving the pegasus healed and, hopefully, feeling a bit refreshed. “There you are, is that better? Apart from the glass, everything else is quite safe here. I have a daughter around your daughter’s age, I just know she’d love to meet her. Welcome to the Edge.” Still her smile is warm and relaxed, an extended hand should the mare wish to come out of her shell.
