Areli
the flower that smells the sweetest is shy and lowly

Miserable all through the introductions, Areli had barely glanced at Nyx. Though self-centeredness lay at the heart of the matter (instead of willful malice or intentional disrespect), Parelia would have skewered her alive had she seen her daughter’s rudeness. Manners had always been important to her mother, yet somehow she hadn’t quite managed to impart them upon her more freespirited daughter. Her boils were hurting too much to give much priority to ceremony, and Areli was too exhausted to bother with it all. However, the stranger got her attention when the pale lion stalked out of the bushes covered from tongue to tail in blood.

Of course, Areli had seen her father’s tiger often enough that she didn’t turn tail and flee on the spot, but a startled shriek still escaped her lips at his unanticipated and gruesome appearance. Bee yelped and dove between her legs, eyes wide as she  gazed upon the lion, only loyalty to her mistress holding her to the yearling’s side. While she surmised that the creature must be Nyx’s companion (judging from the former’s unruffled appearance at the sight of the bloody predator), Areli shifted nervously, looking to Mauja for comfort.

However, it was the mare who spoke. While she hadn’t been paying much attention as Mauja voiced his idea, Areli guessed that she was some sort of healer. “The choice is yours,” she was saying, “I’m not going to frazzle you against your will—” Wait, the girl thought, frazzle? A sudden hum filled the air, and Areli’s gold eyes widened anxiously as she watched even the sour-faced lion leap away from the sparks that danced off of Nyx’s forelegs. Beside her Galiel began to babble confusedly, accented voice running wildly up and down. Frightened, Areli’s ears fell sideways. But it was all too much for Bee, whose fur stood on end with terror and static. Just as Areli sidestepped in uncertainty, the wolf made a break for the bushes. Unable to catch herself, the dark filly stumbled over her companion and lost her balance, pitching forward…and right into the electric embrace that awaited.

OOC: Apologies for the delay!
