"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

With fire to keep us warm, and tools we made from rocks and bones
As was to be expected, Gaucho misinterpreted Ophelia's raised-chin and squared-shoulder stance for something else. He had not expected her to merely melt before him - dream or no - and the slightly aggressive, or at least indomitable stance she displayed only further piqued his wanting. As her ears tilted backwards, his wings raised ever so slightly, as if keeping their bodies in the same proportions they had been. Wasn't movement-mirroring a sign of physical interest? Not that Gaucho's brain was thinking about how to display his intrigue in her - it was too flooded with the feeling of simply being intrigued by her.
Until..
I stole you
What a bizarre twist. Though in this dream-world, anything goes and so--
I tracked your movements for days.... So she had been watching him ... how had he not noticed her? Then again, he had noticed her. Many times - at the battles, when he gifted Einarr the armour ... Though she didn't appear to be any more interested in him than normal?
But if this was a dream - why did those things matter? Dream logic wouldn't--
So why not steal the greatest warrior? Does that then make me the greatest spy?
He didn't know. Too many thoughts.
Gaucho liked that she had called him the greatest warrior, but he didn't like that the possibility of what he had thought was about to happen, was dwindling. The thoughts of sex which so flooded his system with endorphins and hormones lent themselves with equal vigour to the anger that was growing inside of him. His hardened primal features grew stony and still as he allowed his mind time to think. A game? It was only a victory if they were both aware that something was happening. Gaucho's wings flared brighter as his appendages were lifted even further upwards with his rising irritation, at the thought of Ophelia taking credit for what she had done. After all, if they were friends why should he be on the look out for her? This was not a victory. This was betrayal. And perhaps most importantly, not a dream.
But then again ...
Gaucho's wings relaxed ever so slightly, and his fire-bright gaze narrowed with a darkened amusement. Perhaps it was the lingering thought of sex (a fantasy Gaucho had long harboured), Ophelia's musk, or the tantalizing realization that she was far more skilled than Gaucho had ever thought to give her credit for, but his rage immediately quieted as a dark smile parted his even darker lips. She had asked him earlier if he had remembered getting here - and of course he hadn't. He had dismissed it - but now the thought sparkled brightly with promise in his mind. Even if this was merely a show of strength, surely it would have been enough to perhaps have Gaucho awaken half in the ocean that bordered the Throat. Or abandoned in the mud somewhere. But this? The Meadows were nearly a days-walk (unless they had simply transported here, and then if so, why here? Why not the Edge? The freezing Basin?). Then there was the fact that she had lingered - she had waited for him to awaken. That there was no one around, couldn't be accidental. Ophelia seemed to attract a crowd wherever she wandered, so either this place was particularly reclusive, or Ophelia had other magic Gaucho was unaware of, that allowed them to hide in plain sight. She could have left him anywhere in the Throat or the surrounding areas. She could have brought an entire grouping with her, if the ability to boast was what she sought. She needn't have waited for him to awaken, and they needn't have been alone.
But they were.
"You ask if Gaucho knows where we are." He rasped, his voice a husky mixture of amusement and restrained desire. "Meadows. Not close to Throat. Gaucho say before Ophelia have love in Edge, but we still here. Alone - no one to see Ophelia's game. But game not over-" A whispery and reckless feeling of lust bloomed brightly in his mind, and again he took an incriminating step towards her. There might not have been any heat thrown off of his wings, but surely there was from his body. Not for the first time, Gaucho could almost tangibly imagine what it would be like to wrap his fiery wings around her alabaster core, and to feel his body blend into her own; Whether in sex, or in battle. She drew that from him, on nearly every meeting - the desire to ravage her, in one way or another. However it was especially prominent now that he bordered the line between being furious with her and wanting her. Not that those were mutually exclusive, especially for Gaucho.
"But you not get called best warrior by winning against those who do not fight. Why Ophelia think she get called best spy for winning against someone who does not sneak? Ophelia strong - get Gaucho all the way out here. Alone-" He paused, his nose pulling even further into his chest as he dared another step forward. "-but Gaucho not hiding. "
