things that don't make sense are always a little deceiving

I am the conjunction of earth and water. And you? You are my downfall.

Isopia had continued to return to the Isles time and time again. Although her obligations and sense of family-ties were faulty at best, it at least seemed plausible that Isopia had a responsibility to this place. Her Father had ushered it in with pain and death ensuing shortly after, and had then just left. She did not fault him for this of course - if anything, his actions were even more justified by her very existence. He had created, and now it was her job to sustain the life.

Wasn’t that why she was here?

The earthen girl was unsure whether or not this type of moral imperative applied as equally to the egg that floated next to her, cradled in a floating basket of water. Perhaps deep down, she had already accepted that it did, for instead of gliding on blackened raven’s wings, the girl flew in god-given body. This was purely so that she could defend the egg should that type of scenario ever arise. As a bird she was perhaps more nimble, but if her spar with Abraham and his dragons had taught her anything, it was that her petite blackened avian body was of no use offensively.

And so, on mis-matched wings, the demigod flew over the archipelagos below. The lands seemed to haphazardly scattered here, and yet the delicate ecosystem somehow thrived below, despite being unearthed from their previous location. How her Father had transported these lands here - and their inhabitants - she didn’t know. Her mind formed a few idle theories about it, but quickly left them unconsidered. It didn’t interest her.

With a whispery sigh, Isopia landed. The egg floated on the water, lowering gently into the soft and billowing grasses. Looking out towards the oceans, the girl allowed a faint smile to grace her lips. She liked it here - alone, standing in the face of the vastness of creation.  "You know, i’m sure this view is better than what’s in there." She observed softly. The girl wasn’t necessarily in any hurry for the responsibility which would accompany whatever creature stirred inside of the egg, but surely it would be hardier than the gently pulsing shell which currently protected it.

Abandon all hope, ye who enter here
