things that don't make sense are always a little deceiving
[YOU WONDERFUL POX-MARKED BEAUTY. I totally didn't expect a reply so soon <3]

Iso was lost in the entirely new world which had suddenly opened up within her already spacious mind. This new perspective was startling and tantalizing in a way that she could not have predicted. A small voice in her head chirped that the responsibility of this creature was still present - but Isopia was aware. The benefits of this tiny mind could not overshadow its tether.

On the ground, the dragon happily devoured the fish left for it by Verzes. From Isopia's mind, it had already pulled the image of the large red dragon dropping the meal. Unlike Isopia, the dragon wasn't even slightly off-put by the vast mind that it now had access to. From only milliseconds after it's 'birth' he had known her big, dark, craterous thoughts. His mind didn't have a referent before Isopia.

What will his name be?

Isopia's quad-horned skull raised to regard Volterra. In truth, for those moments of investigating the dragon's mind, she had almost completely forgot that her monochromatic (friend?) was even around. She almost laughed out loud, thinking that he was joking. He knew how seriously she took naming. Surely he wouldn't think that she would already know--

Hubris

The word whispered into her mind, and the small dragon turned to look at her skeptically. It's green-frilled head tilted slightly, eyes questioning the thoughts that flew far too quickly within her (currently) superior mind. Pride. It was what she was supposed to feel towards the creature, was it not? Pride at who she was, what she could do, what she had? And yet she never did. If this creature was to be a burden to her, could she shift this burden to it? Him?

The dragon opened his jaws, revealing small needle-sharp teeth. Fanning his gold wings out from his body, he tested the air's bouyancy with a few awkward wing beats. Crying out, it continued flapping, only succeeding in making his body bounce childishly on the ground.

"Hubris-" She whispered once, and immediately the creature turned to look at her again. It's wide intelligent eyes locked onto hers, and he - Hubris - stopped flapping his wings. For a moment, the two just looked at each other, before the dragon lunged forward. Wings outspread, having apparently been thinking more about flying than about Iso's pseudo-question, began to glide. "-so that I remember."

She watched as he - Hubris - flapped his wings. Strength filled his body, thanks to Verzes foresight, and the golden creature flew higher into the air. Tilting her head, she watched, eyes wide and perhaps, for once, appearing content. Her own wings ruffled slightly at her sides with each pump of his, as if trying to physically help him. But the girl remembered flying for her first times - the difficulties and the pleasures. She would let the dragon enjoy his first time in the air.

"Where did Verzes go? He seems to ... leave often." The beginning of her statement was lighthearted - or as close as she came to it - while her eyes were still on Hubris. However as the implications of what she was actually asking impressed themselves upon her mind - flashes of Mirabella intertwined with the hot blue mixture of jealousy - her voice hardened slightly.
