The sunset was something I had not watched in a long time. Then again, when had I ever been one to sit back and take in everything around me. Maybe, just maybe I am growing up. Between my time with the equine stallion, to the fight with the Moon Goddess, and even the talk with Hotaru.... Yeah, I would say that I am growing up. I turned my horned head to look at the trinket in my mane. The amber seemed to glow with the setting sun. I still can not believe that Hotaru gave me something that means so much to her. I think it's going to be the start of something good, just like it was for her.

I'm growing into my own self. I'm no longer the soldier and corpral's daughter. Not even just the step daughter or adopted daughter of the Lady of the Basin. I still need to pick a place among the herd, instead of just being a mooch. But that will come in time.

My ears prick as I hear singing. My own dam had done that, early on. Before I tried to be so, tough. The song was soft, and sweet. The kind you would sing to a baby. I couldn't help myself. As I draw closer I see the crowd. Obviously they were drawn in by the singing. I move to stand by one that I think i've seen around the Basin. At the very least, the smell of home is on her coat. She's right, it's very beautiful. Much like my own mother's voice was. It's only then I see what she is singing to. An egg! Oh could it be? A companion egg. My heart soared! I longed to belong to another in this world. To love and be loved. I do not know much of the bond of a companion, but I have seen it. My father and Odette, Hotaru and her hound, among many others. I long for the companionship being bonded will bring. I hope I am strong enough to handle the heartbreak that will come, should this little one go home with another.
