"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

There was a sense to Faelene that she was deep in thought for most of the journey. Tolio was curious about the dame, she was certainly a complicated character. Her thoughts were not something he wished to or would intrude on, but as an individual she was curious to him. She had more depth than the shallow creatures that infected the shadows of the land these days. Never mind that, he reminded himself. There would be time later for conversation. He was brought from his musings by Faelene's voice, a welcome sound compared to the fierce sound of the wind. With no foliage to block it, it spread quickly across the frozen land. And straight into his ears. It was something he would grow used to, he told himself pleasantly. Refusing to look on the dim side with the possibility of a home auead. Quirking an appreciative smile at her compliment. "Thank you. I find that it's best to think before speaking. Certainly gets you out of many tumbles." Grin turning playful and mischievous, as was normal for him. Yet the sincerity responding to her words shone quite clearly in his silver eyes. Her little drops of information sated him briefly, as a thirst is quenched by small streams. Not much was given yet it was infinitely useful to him, painting a picture in his mind of what he would find in this leader of hers.
A deep sigh echoed from his cinnamon chest, tainting the air where the warmth touched the cold and eventually died to the small puffs of his breath. "Sadly the words that drift like smoke from ear to ear are not always true. And equally as impossible to stop as the material itself when found in nature. The only thing one can do is turn away or laugh in their petty faces because you know the truth. If this is happening to your leader as it happens to many, then he is stronger than I to keep his temper. Perhaps it is smart as well. It may be a good defense when concerning outsiders." Finding he was talking quite a lot he gave a little grin of apology as they began their wait.
It wasn't long to wait, which Tolio was minutely thankful for. Movement was best in cold atmospheres. The gentle touch of noses was intriguing and enlightening. The spotted stallion was already slowly making a rather good impression on him. Relieved that Faelene did not object to his plea to find the healer. Tolio had watched her carefully without a word, concerned. Knowing he didn't have the position to tell her to find help. Silently thanking Mauja and finding his concern a proud trait to have.
Mauja didn't speak after Tolio introduced himself. Merely studying him. It was a little intimidating which Tolio had anticipated. Standing still and unmoving beneath his stare, letting him dissect him with ice blue eyes. He had nothing to hide and though he knew telling him this would not make him believe him he wished it would. Thankfully it seemed the both of them were momentarily confused by Faelene's compliment, and his eyes turned again so that the owl fell under his vision. Silently giving a small nod of agreement unconsciously. She was a beauty, with rather stunning features similar to her bonded. Their conversation was light and Tolio respectfully stayed out of it. Only turning to pay attention when the mighty stud turned his gaze back to him. Only now they were kind, and Tolio gave his ears only to his words. "Thank you, Mauja. It is an honor. You have before you an eager pupil. I will seek these warriors you speak of as soon as I can. Not many leaders would offer their own tutoring, thank you Sir." Face soft and sincere. Yet another trait that Tolio admired in the stallion it seemed. As Mauja stepped forward he did the same, extending his neck and gently brushing against the others muzzle. Familiarizing himself with the scent, warmth touching warmth in the vast land of cold. Tolio quietly swore on his parents souls that he would serve this proud stallion, forever. Already the urge to help, to learn stirred inside him. If this was how he was treated, then he would make sure that they regained their lands.
