Lowering his mighty head to the cool pools of water at his feet the giant draws back a few sips of the fresh water. Everything around him is quiet, almost too quiet for his liking. Where is everyone? Flicking his long tassels against his hide to clear away the last lingering pests, he perks his ears to listen. Still only silence and his own breathing break through his eardrums. Growing restless anyway the grey warrior beckons to his bonded before walking away from the waterfall pool.

Moving along steadily his large hooves undoubtedly crunch in fallen leaves while Kiara's are soundless as usual. How was it that feline's could be so quiet all the time? Sometimes it was just nice to know when you had someone beside you or when something was sneaking up on you. Sighing softly in defeat he knew that there was no way that he would ever be able to figure that out for Kiara would never give up such secrets. Watching her saunter slowly up ahead he froze when he seen her ears perk up and her hackles stand on end. "Danger... foal." She said abruptly sprinting off to her right just as the sound of a twig snapping caught his attention.

His head was up at attention immediately as he barreled after her rounding the corner to find Kiara with her teeth bared staring down another large black feline and a small painted filly. "Look Out!" He yelled towards the filly as he half reared with his ears pinned back. Charging forward with heavy hoof beats he aimed to try and kick the black feline as he rushed past to place himself between the predator and prey. Kiara sensing the danger was already to do battle should the other foreign feline move a muscle in the wrong direction. Growling in warning she took her stance with head and body low to the ground with teeth bared.
