Her moves are delicate, graceful, cloven hooves stepping softly over twigs and dead verdant. Planets swirled around her, occasionally picking up tassels of dark mane. Muddled pillars pause, emerald gaze darkening. She recognizes her surroundings. The sun is low in the sky, making way for little light to stream between the amber colored leaves. Nevertheless, she was familiar enough with the land to know exactly where she is.

Sensing her trepidation, her bonded nosed her shoulder lightly, sending reassurance through their connection. Her body was moved by his gentle prods, but her soul was not. She had lost too much here to make it worth coming back at this point. Her heart had been broken countless times by friend and foe alike, what point was there in coming back if she were merely to be broken again?

Many seasons ago, she had gotten lost, but she had not tried to find her way back. She was content to leave this land as it was, and close that chapter of her life on a somber, but satisfied note. But in trying to move forward, she found next to nothing past these borders. And now, she had found herself eclipsed, back where she began. But whether or not she wanted to be here after all was still a mystery to the maiden.

Inside, her emotions were in disarray. There was a temptation to stay, to try and make her homeland work again, but she was in a delicate state.

A grunt came from her beast, giving her a mental shove along with a physical one. The mare sighed softly, wrapping her muddled, leonine tail between her legs. Crowned head hung low as she tried to sort out her emotions. Visions of times that were pleasant swirled her mind, sent forth from her bonded, but they were not yet enough to make her move any further. They were enough to keep her there for the moment, though.
