He was a shadow on the beach at high noon. The sands wound around his hooves and warmed them in the sun. He'd stand there in the warmth of the sun for what seemed like hours. But now it was time to move and find a place to rest in the shade.

Trudging through the sand he made it to the place where the sand met the forest and green undergrowth with disdain, condescension. He didn't think much about the others lurking there in the shade as well or who else could have spotted him moving, finally, out of the open. He watched the sands stir with a slight wind that wasn't there before, though it was not strong enough to blow a leaf off of a tree, it was still wind.

The man was never content with who he was shaped to be. He'd always wanted more. He'd always thought more was what he would get. But it wasn't and never was until he found this place. Helovia. This was his more; and his new home. He just had to learn to like it. Learn to find new friends, make them instead of ignore them, for a change. Be the man he wanted to be. Not the one his parents wanted him to be.

It sounded like a boy's teenage story, for it was, until he wasn't a teen anymore, but an adult and had to start dealing with his own problems of misunderstanding. He was a man now, not a teen (obviously). But he still had that teen's sarcastic and confused mind.
He needed to stop getting pushed around by his parents. Stop letting them mold him.

Now he was finally gone from their herd in the Rift. Here. And thank the gods because here was a damn perfect place, if he were to be honest. But if he wasn't honest, and just being a jerk about it, he would call it hot or gross or he'd make a sarcastic comment about it's inhabitants.
But he couldn't. Not yet. Not until he actually met one.

He'd made his way here to find someone. Anyone. A friend, perhaps. And he kept his intention to find them. No matter how long it took, whoever they were, he'd keep them in his heart and his head. Go back to them when they needed help or reassurance because they were his first. No matter if they hate him or love him, he'll always return. No matter if they spit on the grounds he walks on or don't believe in the things he does, they would remain a friend. Nothing can beat the power of firsts, for Madigan.

He just hoped that this first didn't hate him as much as his parents had.
