Grusha & Tae

living in the shadow of doubt, i'll never obey but i'll always decide

Warrior meetings were not fun, but they were informative. Grusha didn't go out of her way to listen in on the meetings that her parents had with the Throat's warriors, but when she was present she listened. She wanted to hear tales of battle. She wanted to know if anyone died and where. She wanted to find their bodies and she wanted to rip away the bones that the corpse no longer needed, but so far she hadn't been so lucky. Every meeting was the same boring thing after the other. Mindless patrols that turned up absolutely nothing. It made her wonder if a warrior could really be called a warrior if they never fought.

Honestly, she wouldn't have even considered going to this meeting if it hadn't been for Tae's insistence. The nudge to her shoulder and the whisper of 'Seestra' was enough to sway the larger twin. She stayed beside Tae as they approached their father, the warrior, and his son (she assumed). Her blue eyes studied the colt as Tae called him and his father warriors, but he did not strike Grusha as much of a warrior. He was tiny and thin. Her head tilted as her gaze swept over him, then she looked at her sister. "Thmall for warrior." She commented to her sister, though she knew already that it wasn't wasn't the size alone that made a warrior great. It was also their spirit and determination and she saw none of that in the boy. She saw skinny, overeager colt. When she looked at her sister she saw a girl that could take on the world and make it bend to her will. She saw a warrior

Not long after Mal appeared, his counterpart also appeared and took advantage of the shade that the girls provided. The pup yawned then panted and looked at the two males that he didn't know with disinterest. Unlike Tae, Grusha did not wonder if she would call the boy a friend or an enemy. Already, he was nothing to her and he would remain that way unless he proved himself useful in the future.
