Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.
Nothing else could describe the magnetic pull that had drawn him to the thickest flowing of mists. Sleep, as usual, had evaded him. In it’s place, his legs had carried him (without choice) into the ever-thickening fog that shrouded the Edge. Though, this night, it seemed especially heavy, as it clung to and darkened the buckskin of his hide, dampening it to dark chocolate streaks.

The Elephant King could barely make out his own hooves, so thick was the cloud he walked through— and it was thickening. Sweeping strides slowed, reducing and shrinking the eddies and swirls his thick columns of legs had made in the mist, as the end of his broad muzzle began to disappear into the white condensation.

And so that was the reason his great ivory hooves bumped into something solid, warm, and living. A surprised snort escaped flared nostrils, brows raising as dark eyes probe the murky darkness. Slowly, his deep breaths cleared a small break in the fog, revealing the midnight blue skin his hoof had connected with. Gaze drifted to another solid form, as pearly as the mist— Erthe, the Seer’s apprentice, was also present. “Apologies, Alune,” his deep voice murmured quietly, wishing to not interrupt his Seer any more than he already had.

His mist and shadow-ridden mind slowly realized what the Moon’s disciple was attempting to do— and he cast a dark and wary gaze around the mists, thoughts returning to the ominous power their goddess had displayed on multiple occasions; the Labyrinth, the Meeting. He retreated a few steps, giving the two Moon advocates some space, but not enough to lose them in the fog.

There was much to confer with the Moon, should she choose to appear. Their alliance with the Basin— did he need her approval for that? And, with the fall of the wall, their borders were woefully unprotected— could en entreaty her for guidance for protection? His own attempt at building a wall of spikes has been woefully slim, as he had been overcome with the darkness of her gifted power. Eyes study the form of Alune has he drifted in and out of focus in the mist— did his Seer want some kind of shrine to the Lady? He was incredibly devoted to her.

Silently he waited.
