When her eyes opened to reveal steel ones that look identical to December's, her heart melted in that moment, and she knew then and there that this child would hold her heart captive forever. Her tongue continued to work along her splashed coat, until an excited whinny escaped her lips. It caused her to pause, briefly watching her before smiling softly, and beginning to laugh as she attempted to speak like her. Obviously there were things they needed to work on. Soon there were hoofsteps behind her, causing her to instantly flatten her ears and bare her teeth, ready to face any beast that try to come across her and her precious babe. It was when she recognized her dunskin prince her expression returned to one of relief, lips searching for his skin as she spoke to him almost pleadingly,"What took you so long? I wanted you here." She was about to say more when he tenderly kissed her cheek, causing her body to melt into him and his scent. She smiled, closing her eyes to savor his touch, before finally pulling away and listening to his concerned questions.
She sighed and nodded, ignoring his concerned prodding to return to their child, before the sound of her gurgling stomach caused her to pay attention. She smiled, nosing the girl tenderly, before finally lifting her sore bulk on all fours once again. A slight grimace graced her complexion, before her expression of tenderness returned, eyes looking down upon her pride and joy," Merialeth, come eat." Bringing her nose down towards the filly, she attempted to lift her onto all fours, encouraging her to hold her balance, before turning her bodice so that her side was revealed to the painted princess, offering her an easier opportunity to nurse. If one were to ask where she had decided on the name Merialeth, she wouldn't be able to tell them, all she knew is that it was the first thing that popped into her mind when thinking of her baby's name, and so she had decided upon it. That was always how December's mind worked.
