I was looking for a breath of life,
A little touch of heavenly light

Asavvi had very little concern for her own safety, and why would she when there were so many other people who made such a fuss about it. It wasn’t a boldness, like her brother had or rebelliousness like her sister, just a deep lack of understanding that there were creatures who didn’t mind hurting other creatures. Her mother and father always made such a fuss, and Nizho was learning to do the same, but Asavvi drifted on, perfectly unaware that that the world was indeed a very dangerous place. This was rarely a problem though. Her slow and cautious nature meant she rarely got farther than a stones throw from any of her family but this was due more to a deep-seated patience and a liking for home than any fear if what lay beyond.

She sighed again at the sound of her brother’s voice, at the annoyance in it, and lifted her head to look back at him. She was always so pleased to see him that the contented little smile she gave came with a happy hum in her throat. His little lecture was no surprise, but it made her a little ashamed to have worried her twin. “Don’t be mad, nothing’s gonna happen. And besides, Mai said these caves were a safe place.” She sidled up next to him and pressed the flat of her forehead into his neck as a fellow and in the hopes of soothing his ruffled feathers; she never liked to see her Nizho upset.

She pulled back with a bright grin, hoping her would give the safety protocol a rest and join in her enjoyment of the fascinating place. “Mai said she and everyone had to live here for a time and there are so many rooms and I haven’t found it yet but there is one with the fountain where she saw the God of Earth! And isn’t this room beautiful?!” she coaxed, glancing up at the glittering ceiling with near the same level of adoration as the stars. “It’s got every kind of crystal and stone you could imagine and look!” She reached to tug on his mane before skipping back to her little pile and gesturing at them with a flourish of her wings.

“.”
