He was bored. The prey in the lands was limited to a few ragged and elderly mares. The large Shire had limited desire to be with them, even though very rarely did he have a limited desire to do anything, particularly when mares were involved. He paced anxiously in the lands, searching for a good looking mare that had not already been snatched up by one of the stallions that were searching as relentlessly as he. Oh sure, they would give noble reasons for taking the mares, but Abyss no longer believed in noble intentions. He had none of his own, why would any other stallion.

He huffed anxiously and impatiently. It had been too long since he had been with a mare. He gave a sideways glance at a stunted, grey mare that stood nearby with her head to the ground grazing. Disgusted he turned away, there had to be a gem among the stones. Though not typically picky, he had standards and none of the mares satisfied his standards.

He dropped his head to ground and grazed for a few moments. Waiting. Waiting...he would wait until one worth his time came.
