Unlike the mare's his eyes were constantly seeking those out that belonged to any that they passed. The pirate's smile stretched out easily to everyone that caught his eye. There were a few that he would have liked to stop and chat with but even as he opened his mouth to suggest taking a break and to converse with those near where they would patrol Orithia would already be a length or two away from them. So Caenan would nod in farewell to the strangers and would leave kind or flirtatious words before catching up. His attitude towards the patrol changed once they happened upon the caves. Caenan did not like being where he could not glimpse the sky above. As he stepped into the cave's threshold the stallion grumbled and eyed the walls around him warily. He felt as though the walls would fall on him like hungry beasts at any moment. Longingly he turned to look back towards the cave's entrance. Whenever Orithia moved into a jog Caenan jerked his attention back to what was in front of him and stared after her wide eyed. His breath caught in his throat as he numbly ordered his hooves to do the same. Adrenaline wildly pumped through his veins trying to dull his fear. Once caught up Caenan brushed shoulder to shoulder with the mare colored like the pale seashells cast upon the shore. Touching another made him feel more comfortable and he glanced towards her face with an uneasy grin. |
