The cold is a welcome surprise. A wide smile reaches across Roanne's features, banishing the last of Knox's hindering gloom. Perhaps that's necessary, though, in order for the gift to be given. Try as he might, the hunter is not so good at being selfless as Archibald would want him to be.

The dragon's claws in his nose are something that force him to be still, if only on instinct alone. Roanne isn't scared of dragons but others in the family line are, and they cower in fear at such closeness. What the sentinel views as mere kindness and connection is bravery to others.

The sparks and frost mix with the rain and create a unique scent that the partially blind stag does not recognize but hopes to encounter again. It is clear that this meeting is coming to an end, but he senses there is still more to come. When the dragon releases him he turns and lets his limited gaze follow the shifting raven.

He is not surprised at her secondary form, but he is perhaps surprised that she has shown it to him so readily.

Foolish, Knox thinks with an internal snort, impressing his penchant for maintaining secrets upon the mare.

Roanne turns to the mare and nods at her thanks. "Yuh are wulcome," Roanne answers softly, before moving slowly towards the branch where he remembers hanging the prize. It slides from its perch and onto his nose with ease--from there, he offers it to the mare. He winks at the dragon as he passes him, having formed an affection for the beast.

"Use it wull," he adds as he drops it before her on the ground, his eyes staring vaguely into the distance and her shadow. There time together is over, for now. He doesn't think she will stay long.
