In the cold and the dark, there is light. It does not warm or entrance like the sun or the moon. It merely is. Sparking and shivering in delight beneath the evening hours of impending darkness, it is a shapeless orb of energy. Tendrils flicker and crack playfully from the center mass, scorching and electrifying the various plants around it. If one were to listen closely as it drifted and hiccuped its way across the land, they would hear the faint sound of mischievous, playful laughter. Genderless and nameless, but an odd echo that somehow was utilized for the purpose of expressing itself to others.

Of course this precious, playful energy was not without guardians, harried and anxious though they were. Two stoats, cloaked in their white winter fur, were bounding and chasing after the floating spark like it was an errant balloon. They were chittering nervously to each other, clearly trying to keep an eye on it without shocking themselves or making it unstable - it had no real emotions but it was still a blob of energy, and volatile in nature at that. They whined and chuffed at one another, wringing their little paws and trying to think up a way to corral the magical orb lest it start some sort of electric fire.

They turn and look at you, beady eyes glistening in the blue-white flickering light of the sparking ball. "Help us catch it!"
