"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Endless Night :: Dead Magic Plot ☼ - 6/22/13 - The gods of Helovia, in order to protect the world, have disappeared into the rift, leaving the world sunless, moonless and magic-less in their absence. Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

I couldn't necessarily say I was out of my element as mismatched limbs carried me further south and away from the Basin once again. This trip had been made more times than I, or Edison, could count in search of my dear twin brother or any family members for that matter. Today was no different, ignoring the annoying screeching of the avian in my head, I was making the journey south for the latter part of the winter once again in search of the blood stained black stallion that I had shared a womb with.
"Why didn't we stay home." The avian's voice echoed through my mind like nails being dragged ever so slowly down a chalk board in a silent room. Silence was all he got in return as I continued moving through the slowly melting snow, noticing how much slicker and then drier the ground got as I moved south. As much as I loved the frozen winters in the Basin it was nice every now and then to get a break from the frigid bitch's grasp and wander into the loving embrace of the sun's rays. With all of the tittering of birds in the branches that hung heavy with slowly budding leaves over head it was easy to brush off the annoyed bird of prey that rested between my shoulder blades, his talons occasionally digging into my scarred flesh as my movements pushed him ever so slightly off balance.
Blood hued flesh shuddered as a talon dug mercilessly into muscle, sending the kite into the sky his wings snapping out unceremoniously just above my ink tipped ears. Mental images of the ocean flashed through our mental bond, the pictures pressing themselves like a lover against the glass wall I had up against his emotions currently, the land around me gave way to the soft and well traveled sand nearly causing me to stumble. The salty air marked the end of my journey, my darker twin still missing as I had officially wandered through nearly all of Helovia in search of him, hoping that our half brother Mesec was a liar and that he hadn't left me. A defeated sigh slid through my inky lips as I moved to turn back to the Basin where I would wait out the rest of Frostfall before deciding on if I would remain there or start out on my own journey. But before I could take a step a voice was carried over the ocean's breeze, "Come to me. Let us interrupt this heat with a spar!"
Edison ruffled with excitement over the thought of getting to tear into someone's flesh as he didn't truly want to cause me any pain, no matter how annoyed he was with me for dragging him all over hell and creation. I heard his wings smack against the air as he spun in the direction of the call, being sure to send me mental images along the way until a black and white unicorn with two antlered companions was pressed up against the glass paneling, the trio looking as if they had never been in such warm temperatures before. A sick smile stretched my lips as I took off in an easy lope towards my competitor, there was so much steam to blow and I couldn't wait to relieve some of my stress in the form of causing scars upon his pretty painted coat. Delicate nostrils flared with excitement and exertion as I drew closer to the trio, my pace slowing as I stopped at a safe distance from them. Or at least a safe enough distance according to Edison. Dark tipped ears flicked forward in a show of excitement as moon eyes settled forward and my vocal chords jumped into action. "You called?"
A smirk split my features as I leapt forward into action, Edison screeching directions in my head, but I blocked him out as adrenaline and endorphins rushed into my system, proving my inexperience in the battlefield. Well muscled neck arched as my chin tucked gracefully into my chest, leaving my ivory spiraled horn exposed in hopes of penetrating either member of the trio. Damage was damage no matter who it was dealt towards. Right?

Setting: An unseasonably warm noon across from the Dragon's Throat Island. Clear skies, calm seas.
Notes: I would love teaching points! Roux answers Ashamin's call by lunging towards him, excitement taking over as he ignores Edison's tips and just hopes that his horn strikes any member of the trio. He's super inexperienced, as am I. So this will be a shit show and a half.
Now waking to the sun
I calculate what I had done
Like jumping from the bow
Just to prove that I knew how
