It had been some time since the mare had felt at peace, but as she stood beside the oasis with her mate Sultan and their daughter, she was wrapped in a calm happiness that could not be shaken. A soft smile played at the corners of her mouth, her tired gaze fixated lovingly on the filly as she tried (and failed) to rise from the sands. The mare remained silent, allowing Vinati the opportunity to try again, to find the determination that undoubtedly flowed through her veins. With any luck, the girl would prove more dependable than her mother. Later, after she and the WildFire had gone their separate ways for the time being, she would again begin to doubt... but for now, the filly's light eclipsed all of her mother's fears.

"Gaucho layafatz," he told her, and the Transcended mumbled a satisfied affirmation. She, too, was happy, content by her place in the Dragon's Throat and hopeful for whatever future she had here. For whatever future she had with him. Regardless of her failure to stay, regardless of her momentary lapses in judgement in the past... she loved him. She had always loved him. She had spent too long trying to change him, to mold him into the lover that she had wanted him to be, and she had almost missed the glory of the relationship they had already had. Perhaps, if the gods were good, there would be a chance, now, for her to mend what she had broken.

Beautiful, he called them then, though it was only the prospect of herself being beautiful that brought a rueful smile to the mare's lips. It had been some time since she had felt pretty, desirable in any sense - and for him to assure her now, after she had only just been in the throes of childbirth... well, that was amusing to say the least, though sweet of him to say. Her gaze dropped to the sand, that pleased smile still on her face as she accepted his praise despite disagreeing with him. She was getting old, she was still fat from carrying Vinati. That she didn't look a complete mess was a miracle in and of itself. Beautiful? No, she was no beauty. Not anymore.

Vinati, though... the filly was beautiful, and that was enough for her.

"Talk talk talk."
