So, too, was she jealous of their siblingship, their camaraderie. It was evident that they were two parts of a whole, and she was simply...
A bystander, forever cursed to find herself on the outside looking in, never to know what it meant to have a sibling or a real family. Oh, she wasn't stupid: she knew that Mother being gone more than she was present was abnormal, knew that the relationship her parents shared was nothing more than a deep friendship. In a way, she admired them, for when they were together, they were comfortable with one another in a way that she could not hope to understand, had been able to make of their (apparently) brief romance a lasting friendship. Too young and naive to know any better, the girl hoped that perhaps she would one day meet someone that offered themselves to completely (albeit asexually) to her.
In any case, she was about to slip away silently, leaving the brothers to their mischief, but another voice caught and held her attention. "Boys," the new girl was saying as she approached the edge of the pond. And then a short, friendly greeting. The filly was full of the simple sweetness that Aleta lacked, erring more on the shy side. Still, with more than just two rambunctious colts present... Aleta stepped forward, melting out of the shadows, the lightning marking on the right side of her neck flickering anxiously. She stopped quite far away from the water, not wishing to get splashed or touched in any way. "Hi," she said softly, a certain, characteristic bashfulness overtaking her. At home, she was more vocal, more outgoing, more sassy; here, though... she was out of her comfort zone, and it was evident in the shy way she moved.
"Talk."
