Walking along the herd with the out-banded unicorns, Valentine had a lot of questions. He heard whispers of things, be they were all vague to him, as his mind was going in circles as it usually does. He wondered how long they could keep living here, and how long it would take to recover and set an attack for the return of the unicorns for Edge. He hoped not long, as he didn’t much like the cold, except for the ice of course. His sat down by a group of snow-covered rocks, pushing the Cyanice back and forth between his front hoofs. Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth… He stopped. He hated having nothing to do, and in all honestly, not being able to do something. It was annoying to him. He remember when he was younger, his mother got sick once. She became very ill, so much that should couldn’t run, walk, or even stand. She begun to stop eating as well, and soon after this his father fell to the sickness as well. Since he was an only child, he knew nothing of how he could help. He was only a foal then, less than a year, and he couldn’t do much. He couldn’t even find food for himself. Snapping out of the flashback, he sighed. He hated when he went back into the past too. He looked out to the other unicorns, some laying down like he was, from protection of the cold. Others were up and moving, either chatting with each other or just walking around. He seemed to be the only one that was alone. It didn’t bother him, as he was quite used to it.
It should though, said a voice in the back of his head.
You’re part of a herd now. Herd. That means not being alone, remember? Shut up, he said to himself.
I can do what I want, if I choose to be alone, than I choose to be alone. Good Gods, he was arguing with himself. Maybe he should go and talk to some people. He looked around, trying to find one that he could approach, but found no one.
