He was glad the mare had caught on to his question. He could see a smile on her lips, and his heart fluttered a bit.
Keep your cool, you can do this. So much had happened in a short amount of time that he was almost overwhelmed, but he didn’t mind. He wanted to be near her.
What the hell is wrong with me? He mentally sighed, trying to keep his calm. He felt like he was going to burst, but he didn’t know what would come out. Would he mentally explode, or physically? Could I die from that? He almost shook his head again. It always helped him clear his thoughts, especially when his mind traveled.
Picked a great time to do that didn’t you? In his next move, he finally spoke to her.
“Well, there something that seems to be missing. I didn’t catch your name, may I have it? My name is Valentine. You probably could have guessed that, since the mark on the other side of my body.”
He hoped that she wouldn’t make fun of him, because he wasn’t in the mood for it. He had seen some unicorns in passing, and they had always called him "Cupid", "Lover Boy", or something else stupid of that variety. He always ignored it and tried not to let it bother him, but somehow it always got under his skin. The mark was something special, at least that’s what his mother had told him. He was special, since he had none of the markings his parents had, and he was red. His parents were plain, with his mother having a stripe under her left eye. She was white, and his father was grey, with black in his mine. The red came out of no where. He mentally sighed again.
I hate thinking about things. Don’t fuck this up for me brain, or so help me I’ll find something so horrible to think about you’ll have nightmares about it. He didn’t notice but he was arguing with himself again, and didn’t realize the irony in his statement. He turned his attention back to her, waiting patiently for her name.
(Aw, poor Psyche is flustered. It’s kind of adorable though, especially since Valentine is too ;) )
