It had been very easy to gain the stallion's trust. She assumed as much for several reasons. One, he was still talking to her. Not all of them would, recognizing the cruel glint in her orbs or the crooked, coy smile as trouble. And yet, here he was. Two, he had given his name. This was a crucial aspect of the conversation. One could do many things with a name, depending on one's intentions. If she wanted to coerce him, she could simply croon his name with a seductive smile and have him wrapped around her hoof in a heartbeat. Or, if he crossed her, she could find him by name, or send someone to find him. Oh, the possibilities; they were endless.

She was sure that he had been ridiculed for his name in the past; what mare in her right mind would name her son 'Valentine'? But, in the interest of building trust - and, though she wouldn't admit it, a lack of desire to tease the stallion - she would, instead, try a flirty response. "Well, I suppose that makes you the King of Hearts, then, darling," she informed him with a sweet smile. She hoped that this would not be an offensive comment, but rather a charming one. She wanted Valentine on her side. For some reason, it seemed as though he would be beneficial to her. "And my name is Psyche."
