He looked at her, eagerly awaiting her answer. He didn’t think forming a team would be that hard, at least now it wouldn’t be. He could tell she was in deep thought, and about what she wasn’t sure. However, there was something that he caught that made him think she started to think of something else. Her looked softened a bit, and the lines formed a puzzling one. It went as suddenly as it had come, and he knew if must have had something to do with him. He didn’t know what, but something in his mind told him. The voice was still babbling on about it, and he wanted to take a hammer to shut it up, but he let it talk. It wasn’t distraction, but he liked the feeling of disobeying in that moment, even if it was only himself. Upon hearing her answer, he was extremely relieved, and excited. He knew then there must be others like them, and that made things easier, but it also made it harder, because he would have to talk to everyone to find out.
Or I could possibly attend a meeting. Either way it doesn’t matter. We need more, and we need them now. Then thought of her leaving just struck him, and it consumed him. Why did she leave? Did someone do something terrible to her? The burning in him resumed, growing again with the fire of this new thought. The voice got louder too, but he finally took the hammer to it, sick of hearing it. He didn’t care if this was wrong, he liked it. Without thinking, he moved toward her and rubbed his muzzle on hers. He spoke softly, ignoring the other questions he had for now. He would get those after this.
“Why is it that you had to leave? Did someone do something to you?”
