It's said she's made of storm cells
and a wild wolf's hungry heart
They had learned of their origins. That their father was a King. That their mother was a long forgotten princess. Their mother could’ve been a Queen, and of course all the childhood stories of Kings and Queens, of the knight in shining armor rescuing the endangered princess from dragon fire and darkness. Kiada had learned that she was a princess, after all. And she let that kind of power get to her head, just as her brother had. They were royalty and they were to be treated as such. Despite their tiny statures, their young ages, they were persistent. Kiada had been born, graced with magic - but she could feel that something was different with her brother. They were to be as one, working together like a well oiled machine. One part, one heart, always knowing when something changed within the other.

So the two of them bounded through the Birdsong grasses of the Meadow - a place they hadn’t known the name of. And despite the fact that they had escaped Mother, the golden’s polecat could be seen hiding in the shadows keeping an eye on the two of them. No matter how they tried to get away, Marembo continually followed with his watchful gleaming beady eyes. This didn’t bother Kiada much, however. The polecat never did anything, it just simply watched. And so, she carried on. Her ink dipped head held high in the sky with the ivory stripes that splashed across it a mirror image of her twin’s. The only thing on her mind was the slight feeling of change from her brother. He had mentioned feeling something more within him. This had Kiada wondering if he, too, felt a similar thing as she did with her magic. The burst of light and fire that erupted from her topline.

Do you want to try and use it, Brother?” She questioned, pausing in her new found dance across the grasses to let her oceanic gaze seek out his own. The flames that lined her back were showing slight signs of morphing into an animal as she watched him with curiosity. It was strange for Kiada, to think that her brother might have magic but the idea of it not being so easily seen as hers was. As far as her young mind was concerned, magic was a visible thing, unless of course you were Ru’in after he had pushed her across the Heavenly Fields with something that you couldn’t see. But of course, that was a unique experience, and surely no one else could possibly have something like that - invisible but still burning to be released from their veins.

Letting her gaze drift off from her brother, she knew deep down what the answer would be. So the ivory splashed filly let her ink dipped daggers take her across the grasses even further in a gentleness that showed no signs of malice. The movement of a simple family of rabbits caught her attention, and she figured they might be a good option. They were soft and brown in color, and where other little girls might admire them and want to play with them, Kiada just wanted to see what her brother was made of. The filly picked a spot near the family, but not too close. She laid herself in the grasses, disappearing for the most part aside from her magic as it shifted into small flames of rabbits, jumping and bounding across her back - intriguing the little family of rabbits. The trap had been set. Now it was up for Kianzo to set it off.

"Talk."
that she's learnt the lightning's secret—
to ripping darkened skies apart.
