Her reverie was interrupted by her mother's questions, to which the filly responded, "Most of the herd has them." She didn't really understand why her mother was so sad. If these ghosts were simply lost souls, then they would find their way back eventually, wouldn't they? "But they don't even know they're there." Suddenly, she thought she understood Sohalia's sorrow. Their loved ones were with them, close enough to touch, and yet they had no idea. They just went on thinking they were lost forever. That had to be why her mother was so upset!
Just then, Tae interrupted with her own query. Her pale gaze directed Vinati's attention to a nearby stone, upon which a ghostly eagle appeared. The little filly cocked her head to the side, glancing back and forth between Tae and her magical creature. There was nothing else - it would seem that Tae had created the ghost out of thin air! "Woah!" Vinati squealed gleefully. "How did you do that?" A moment passed, and she realized that she hadn't answered the girl's question. "Oh - no, I don't think so. I see Mai's ghosts, but otherwise it's just you, me, and the eagle you made." Sohalia, who had been momentarily quiet, spoke up just then, agreeing with her daughter.
