Xolani was met by a polite nod and a smile, which she returned before waiting patiently for her now mentor to divulge the purpose for their meeting. The mare assumed that she wanted to instruct the new Apostle(s) in the ways of the Sun, but she supposed that she may have been summoned for more mundane tasks. Perhaps the Diviner simply needed a messenger, a delivery girl to take some trinket or other to someone else in the herd. Perhaps she needed someone to accompany her for some quest given by the Sun. Regardless of the reasoning, the mare was more than happen to answer the summons. It was something to do, some way to contribute to the herd that had taken her in despite her shortcomings.

Another approached, younger and timid, and Xolani offered a kind smile in his general direction. Like all the others she had seen in this land, the colt was strangely colored, though he had a unique shock of feathers upon his brow. Two horns protruded from his forehead and two wings sprouted from his shoulders. Though young, he was already an impressive figure to Xolani, who barely resisted shuffling slightly away from him shyly.

When Maren began to speak, Xolani returned her attention to the Diviner. As Maren talked of their duties, the equine began again to doubt. How was she to do some of the things that her mentor required? How was she to offer comfort when she couldn't even speak? How was she to share their history when she knew next to nothing about it? Still, intermingled with her fear (which, unfortunately, was flickering in dull, blue-green waves across her bodice) was the bright red-orange of anticipation. In her heart, she knew that this was what she was meant to do, and she embraced it and the challenges it brought with an open heart.

The Diviner finished speaking, looking at them expectantly before asking for questions. The silent equine started to shake her head, but paused; turning slightly, so that her side was more clearly visible, she closed her eyes and began to think quite pointedly about the Sun God and their herd. Upon her pelt, a great flaming figure appeared before a smaller, plain equine silhouette; the god disappeared, and the silhouette, in turn, wandered into the herd, her pelt showing the god's light to those who stopped to watch. Xolani looked hopefully to Maren, hoping that her question was plain - would her coat be enough to carry out their god's will?

Thinking.
