The sun shone brightly overhead as Aleta touched down in the Dragon's Throat. She wore a slight frown on her delicate features; the marking along her neck sparked angrily. The sands were empty, giving the girl pause: it wasn't as though she could simply waltz in unannounced. Having parents who have both been herd leaders at some point had taught Aleta the value of diplomacy. She was not one to act first and apologize later - no, the little lightning girl was polite to a fault, refusing to act without first having weighed the consequences of her actions. She had heard of the stallion that ruled the Dragon's Throat, and the consequences of an unannounced entry here could be dire.

Though she had plans to embark on a journey to all four herdlands, this was not such a visit. She had not come to the Dragon's Throat for fun - she had come to find her mother. Sohalia had been absent for long periods, leaving a very frustrated daughter behind. Abandonment did not suit the young filly, and though she had her father to comfort her, she found herself wondering more and more what kept her mother from returning home. Little did she know that the Transcended had another family, another herd, another life that her lightning daughter was not a part of.

Whenever Aleta wonder where her mother had gone, she was enveloped in a writhing mass of emotion: anger, for her mother had left her behind; insecurity, for she must not be good enough to keep her mother around; guilt, for she must have done something to drive Sohalia away. The onslaught was, at least in part, what had driven her to sneak away from the Hidden Falls and take flight for the Dragon's Throat. Though the girl was developing strict control over her emotions (let it show, she reasoned, and she would only end up hurt), she had not yet found herself able to just set aside the betrayal of Sohalia's absence.

And so she paused upon the dunes, staring across the sands, glancing now and then to the clear blue sky. She fluttered her wings, then folded them; she shifted her weight, uncomfortable under the harsh glare of the sun. At least it wasn't windy - she was loathe to find out what the sting of sand would feel like upon her tender flesh. She waited, patient and impatient all at once, wondering who it would be that greeted her.

"Talk."
