You think I'll be the dark sky
She recognized the man from the herd meeting. The way he looked away and stayed silent – refusing to look upon the leaders for longer than a few seconds. The way he appeared careless to the tiny filly and her brother, annoying her twin brother as their Mother’s words extended across the land, commanding the presence of the area around them, of the attention of the other Basin inhabitants (the ones that weren’t as important to the herd as she had begun to realize her mother was). Which is why she had begun following him – straying far away at first to not be seen. It was a large journey to a place she hadn’t ever seen before. She had been observing him, watching as his head lowered to the earth and sniffed around, seemingly searching for something.

Kiada was huddled behind the large rocks that inhabited the land they were in, bright oceanic eyes observing the chocolate mahogany stallion as he continued. He was particularly interested in something, something that had Khairi – her own companion – very interested in the events. He had made a home alongside her withers, keeping him comfortable beside the spotted buckskin hide of the little filly. He also watched the old man, unsure what to make of the events at hand seeing as the tiny chick’s eyesight wasn’t very good. But he peered behind his already too large beak, watching with bright pale eyes just as Kiada did, silently watching with curiosity billowing from her young foal-ness. Her magic was relevant along her back, but she did her best to hide the glowing flames as they licked across her spine in the shapes of birds. She had been trying her best to harness her emotions, to keep them under wraps with her magic that showed behind her ivory painted ink mask.

Suddenly, she began to wonder what was taking the man so long. He hadn’t seemed to move much, and as Kiada tried to watch – her eyelids fluttered with a heaviness of sleep deprivation. She had been awake for so long trying to make sure she didn’t lose the tall stallion. It was beginning to catch up with her. Her head lowered slightly, and she might have even dozed off for a few minutes until a voice erupted from the man she had been following for so many days now. “where the fuck are you legs?!” Eyes opened wide, ears flickered back in worry. Was he angry? He surely wasn’t talking about her! Or her companion, for he had black little spindly legs. So she lifted her head, shaking the sleepiness from her body the best the tiny filly could do before she peered out back at him. Then he continued to speak, rampaging for a few moments until everything calmed down once again.

When he named the creature, Kiada stepped out. Grace was evident in each step she took as she bounded closer to the tall Basin stallion. There was a tiny smile that began to grow on her pink splotched lips as the flames that ignited her back continued to morph into flickering birds of fire. She bounded up to the man, perhaps a bit too close (so be it the idea that she was far too young to realize what personal space was). She stood there for a second, flickering her tiny ebony tuft of a tail as her blue gaze peered at the stallion - not exactly seeing the snake quite yet. “Hi! Did you find your companion too?” She questioned, tilting her head and shifting her tiny body to the side to reveal her own companion. A simple little chick that looked more like a large cottonball that had woven itself into her tiny tuft of a mane. “What kinda shell did yours come out of?” She questioned, lingering closer to try and find the companion - taking a moment to search the ground for the creature as well. She half expected something like her own companion, or Kianzo's, or even Mother's companion. But when she spotted the tiny snake, she was very surprised.

OH." She began, squinting to look at the creature closer. "Oh! He’s so small! Is he gonna be okay?” She asked, practically dancing on the spot with so many questions for the large stallion with the tiny snake companion. She almost found it amusing, a grin spreading across her face as she looked at the man. 'What kind of companion is THAT' She nearly giggled as she thought to herself.

"Talk."
