You think I'll be the dark sky
Kiada should’ve known she wasn’t alone. Khairi didn’t alert her to such things and for that, she silently cursed the chick. Of course he wasn’t old enough to be able to pay much attention to what was happening around them – constantly being tucked along Kiada’s withers as she traversed the land. Perhaps one day he might be a good scout – one to tell her when the other half of her soul would appear. So that maybe one day Kiada might be prepared for the brutal honesty and snarkiness that was her mirror.

So when Kianzo appeared with a growl and a yip from Keusi, she silently cursed herself as well. Bright oceanic eyes shifted from Albrecht with the tiny snake to her twin – he stood a large distance away from her and she suddenly found herself missing the warmth that was his side. She craved it, looking longingly at him from behind her ivory lashes. She always admired the colt, at least when he was sleeping and quiet. He had become so brash, so controlling of her and she was constantly slipping away to try and escape the leash he held on her. Despite him being the twin, she was born first. She was to be independent and codependent at the same time – but never would she bow before the colt. Not when they were equals in her eyes. She was a princess of darkness and flame, just as he was the prince of it all. Never should they bow for one another, and never would they.

Kianzo popped up with a bold statement, his eyes glued to the companion and the man as he asked “What good is it?” Kiada began to feel somewhat embarrassed by this, the flames licking across her back beginning to shift into another animal until Albrecht spoke up – also brash and forward as he claimed they reeked of it’s mother’s womb. Suddenly, she found the flames along her back shifting into fiery snakes – pointed and lashing in a size much larger than the tiny one Albrecht had for a companion. Her eyes narrowed against her black skull, white rimmed ears pinning back. “Good for a lot of things. But you wouldn’t know would you?” She hissed to him – her tiny mind assuming that he wouldn’t know what it was like to have children since he wasn’t a mare. That was the logic that sat in the filly’s head. With this logic, Kianzo wouldn’t even understand. But they were young and passionate despite the arguments that ensued between the twins. She found herself maneuvering closer to Kianzo, delicate ink dipped legs traversing across the cave floor while her eyes never left Albrecht. “I just wanted to know if it would be okay, you don’t have to be rude about it.” She muttered, half to Albrecht and half to Kianzo as her gaze drifted toward the colt for a second before returning to the bearded man.

"Talk."
