Oddly enough, she hadn't been given an assigned patrol for Tallsun even though she had specifically requested it. Their General, Ki'irha, had yet to assign them to patrolling partners and send them off on their assigned locations, and so Rhiannon took it upon herself to patrol anyway. If their General wasn't going to ensure the safety of their herd, to scour the surrounding landscapes for any possible threats, then Rhiannon was going to do it on her own. She had pissed away enough time as it was, and she had promised Deimos that she had changed. That she would change, and General or not, Ki'irha's lack of performance wasn't going to stop her. A scoff escaped the brindled beast's dark lips, her pace a long, extended trot, prowling across the scorched earth. Even within the Steppe, Tallsun's merciless heat reigned supreme. How had their General even achieved such a rank? Since Rhiannon's return, she had only seen the ranked lady to demand to be thrown in amidst the roster for the Tallsun patrols. A lot of good that had done... "What a fucking waste." A waste of effort. Displeasure was a foreign feeling, but Rhiannon was enjoying the freedom from the voices that normally ran rampant within her head. Her thoughts were clear, just as her current task was. It was a welcome, much-needed reprieve. Even though she was angry and displeased at their General, there was a noticeable line between anger and madness. She was well-versed in both. Rhiannon continued on her trek, her pace slowing to that of a leisurely walk, her brindled, black hide a stain against the dry earth beneath her hooves. It was hot today beneath the afternoon sun and sweat coated her spine, shoulders, and breast, furls of frosted mane and tail sticking to her curvaceous body in an unpleasant way. It made her look wild, untamed, dangerous... But a long bath in the hot springs would be her reward for today's efforts, and that was a-okay. |
