"No need to hunt." Archibald's voice sounded cooly into the wind as he stepped from the underbrush. Loretta trotted at his side, tongue rolling from her trap-like jaws as she panted. Gold eyes fell to Syrena, massive head nodding. He was glad the woman found the trespasser, and approved of the manner she spoke in. While Archibald was harsh of tongue and cold of heart, Syrena spoke to the stranger with civility. Perhaps it was good the crafter stumbled here first.
"Archibald the Dauntless, Czar of these lands. I can offer you refuge here, if it is what you seek." The king stepped forward as he spoke, body easily displaying his dominance over this kingdom. Archibald's face stayed emotionless, chiseled from stone as he looked down on the oddly painted newcomer. The woman was noticeably not from this area, as the manner in which she spoke gave way to. Her broken grammar reminded him of Gaucho in some way. Loretta mentally laughed, amber eyes dancing up to her bonded. A small mental smirk lit behind Archibald's eyes, and his eyes met amber for a second before turning to the newcomer completely. "What can you offer the Hidden Falls?"
The behemoth cocked his head, raising a brow slightly. Archibald was completely open to stepping aside and letting new members into his herd, but he would no longer accept dead weight to be carried on the shoulders of his hierarchy. Should this woman answer wisely, her fate in the Hidden Falls will roll forward. If not, well, Archibald would never be afraid to escort the unworthy from his home. |
