Her fuzzy ears twitched and she turned her head in the direction that she thought the sound had come from. She was met with a tongue in the middle of her face and the girl snorted in surprise. She turned her head again, shook it from side to side, but the tongue was still stroking over her fur. Katua chanced opening her eyes again and this time the sun was blocked out by the massive, blurry body of ... something. She blinked several times and as her vision cleared she could see her father and her tiny mouth dropped partially open. He was huge.
There was shuffling as her mother rose to stand and Katua strained to see her mother around the bulk of Tembovu's body. Her eyes never left the spotted mare as she moved toward her brother -- there he was! Tutti tried to call out to him, to speak -- I was looking for you! -- but all that came out was a pitiful bleating. Still, she was satisfied enough and turned her head back to Tembovu and gazed up at him, her blue eyes filled with wonder.
