S U N J A T A
The curses his sister had called him still vibrated in the back of the blue peg’s mind. He did his best to put on a façade, to pretend that it didn’t matter, but he knew better. He’d make himself something here in this Dragon’s Throat – and in turn, shove it in her face when he inevitably became far more important than she would ever be. Back in Korofi, the last thing Sunjata would have done was spend his time with simple minded fools, equines and unicorns. He didn’t delve into matters of those not worthy – but he kept his ideals to himself, trying to make small talk to make the time go faster. However, it was pointless and awkward for the man – unsure of what equines did here in Helovia and how he should go about speaking to them.
So when they breached the edge of the beach where an island had formed outside of reach, Sunjata swiveled his snow white head toward the masked man who had recruited him this far. He nearly cocked an eyebrow in amusement, wondering if the equine would have to swim across while he himself flew. He knew better, though, to do such trivial stupid things in front of strangers – a particular stranger that seemed well versed in words. Jata thought the man might have an idea of how to get across, and so he tucked his blue jay wings to his sides, navy body turning slightly toward the Gladiator. “Is this your home?” His voice was rich and yet sharp in his questioning, indigo eyes lingering on the man for a few seconds longer before drifting back to the island. Even in Helovia’s autumn months, it was still warm. And for that, he was partially grateful. Though he’d never admit such things.
