Deimos the Reaper
You can't take back the cards you've dealt on this
long and lonely road to hell
the throne must be such a sad and lonely place

There’d been more movements and motions outside their mountain walls it seemed – he recalled a time when others had ruled the Falls, before they’d dashed into them and wreaked havoc, before they’d gnashed teeth and irons, before they’d gone to war. He’d had no recognition of her, but such was the same of many faces and features, some rising, some falling, some breaking apart from their chiseled lives and disappearing into the midst. The beast listened, curious, intending to decipher the means of her appearance here, why the Czarina, a living mountain, yearned to climb to their glacial expanse. Her message was clear moments later – not an alliance, not a bridge of contracts and means for munitions, for ramparts, for strength and fortitude, but simple neutrality. He narrowed his eyes for a moment, studied, scrutinized the femme he didn’t know; wondered how deeply her roots ran into battles and glimpses of power, pondered if she’d ever craved desolation and despair, ruins and abominations. He had – he always had. It’d been a part of him since the beginning of the end, when his body churned with death and decay, when the world sought out his malice and christened him a breathing weapon. Perhaps they’d see where she fell in time – when the crown became heavy, when the politics began to erode, when the world seemed eager, fervent, ready, to topple across the horizons and along their shoulders, when citizens growled instead of appreciated. The woes of leadership were long, overbearing, and all-consuming, and some days it yielded naught but exhaustion and fatigue, with nothing to show for their labors. While he mused, Hotaru supplied her portion of the conversation, and he agreed to them, incapable of seeing, of sensing, any outlying errors or reasons to contradict and challenge the forces pervading. “The terms are acceptable.” The monster nodded, bestowing his chiseled compliance with a nonchalant, frozen veneer – but tipped his skull in curiosity a moment later, stepping over the pending hall of silence. “Do you have current need of our goods?”
