As Tilney began to heal, sending down the torrent of darkness, Mesec pressed away from Mauja until the ice of the glacier hit his side. He didn’t want to obstruct the healing powers accidentally. It was a relief to know that Mauja was alive at all, though breathing dangerously slowly. He hoped the magic of the antlered doctor would help spark some life back into him.

His thoughts were down in the icy grave where he stood, drawn only back to the surface when Tembovu’s voice boomed a question. Erthe’s suggestion about rope had him tilting his head thoughtfully. “Rope could work, though it would be tricky…” Mesec the warg looked around the small cavern that he was in with Mauja and the owls and released a soft whuff in exasperation. There was no room to move around here, it’d be almost impossible to get the rope around him and where would they find a rope strong and long enough for the task… and who would tie it? In either warg or horse form Mesec wasn’t sure he was dexterous enough to do it. “What we need is some need Help.” With a capital H because this wasn’t just ordinary help that they needed. They needed more. Either someone with the ability to move a body or… no, that was exactly what they needed. And he knew someone that would be able to. Unknowingly, Mesec added his prayer to that of Tilney’s - beseeching his mother to come, to help.

Even as his thoughts continued to reach out to her, hoping that she was listening, he turned his silver gaze back to the prone form of his friend. “Stay with us, Mauja.” Mesec lowered himself gingerly to the ground, crouching gingerly among Mauja’s legs in the minimal space that was around him - shifting so that his side pressed up against spotted hide. Perhaps his body heat could help revive their frozen friend. Though, he realized, even if Mauja did wake there was still not enough room in this cavern to actually do anything about an escape without help.

He kept his paws beneath him, supporting his weight so that he wouldn’t inadvertently cause more damage, and then he waited - silver eyes not leaving Mauja as he watched for more signs of life.
