Mauja the FrostHeart
ice cold man watches earth die, eternal winter takes its reign

All in all, it was a rather queer meeting - a mare who kept eying her sideways as if he was about to transform into a tiger and eat her any second, and a stallion that looked in his eyes and seemed to find him more and more interesting each time their gazes met. More bemused than concerned by their different reactions to him he allowed the scene to unfold, pale tail flicking idly by his hocks. Solstice had a true passion for her home, and he respected that - sort of. Passion was something that always intrigued and inspired him, sadly, what she was passionate about was a thing he could not allow to last. One day, he'd come to her Foothills and tear them from the grasp of the filthy, and perhaps only with a twinge of remorse at the loss of their passion would he watch it. Mauja had a cold heart, but until the day came when he was ready to crush them, he'd enjoy what he could of their company. Most didn't have much to offer him.

It seemed that his easy grace had done the trick; Aurelius' speech was laid out to placate Solstice but at the same time he realized where the true power lay. The King inclined his head ever so slightly, still amused by the situation. Aurelius was an interesting fellow indeed, if he cared so much for parting on good terms with a mere equine. Of course, Mauja knew that it wasn't good to brand yourself a racist, but the stallion actually seemed sincere. "Of course, Aurelius. I'd not dream of turning down such an asset." And that, too, was sincere. He had a smooth tongue, a quick mind, and most of all, Mauja couldn't get enough of looking at him. The King himself was a tall and regal animal, graceful by virtue of his bloodlines, but Aurelius? He was short, fuzzy, stocky, with ram horns and mismatched eyes. What was he, truly? Apart from short, that is. It seemed that a smaller skull did not mean a lesser intellect. He flicked his frosty gaze onto Solstice, gracing her with a warm smile. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Solstice. May your travels be safe."

With that, he turned around, facing west again. "Come Aurelius, let's go home." And then, he started to lead his newest member to the safety of his haven, wishing for the damnable sun to go hide its fiery face someplace dark.
