Moving through the snow laden woodland there was something noticeably different about the company Sacre kept, or well, he was missing a fox. Ríona was not with him, the kitsune had opted to stay in a den during the cold night, her small body was built for a much more warmer weather than this and she pined for the sands of the Dragons Throat. Inari, on the other hand, found the amass of snow much to his liking and often dived in it searching for food. When they had lived in the throat it had been the other way around, Ríona preferring the heat over Inari who wilted often during the sweltering days of Tallsun. Sacre personally preferred the colder weather, perhaps it was because he had grown up in the Basin, he and Roux used to play on the ice throwing snow at each other all the time when they were foals. The fox-boy smiled reminiscently as his heart lurched in sadness that his brother wasn’t here with him, if he was, Sacre might have thrown a snowball in his red face for old times sake. It wasn’t like he hadn’t looked for him either, every time he had stepped into the Wilds Sacre had searched, perhaps he really was still holed up in the Basin or maybe he had left, gone somewhere else. Though he held out hope that one day their paths would magically cross again and when that day came Sacre would hold tight to his brother, never letting him go again.

It was quiet save for his footsteps and Inari’s leaping, he could see his own breath billow out from his nostrils and his wildly wavy mane stuck to his neck in the dampness of the air. The red of his markings were easy to spot, contrasting with the monotone background and the odd moment when the moon’s shining light lit up his merlot ear or his crimson flank. It was… Nice. So clean and natural, he enjoyed the walk and would have continued until he met a cluster of fallen trees. He too began to pick his way carefully through them, but stopped upon hearing a noise up ahead, trying to peer through the darkness to the white figure just a short distance away.

Inari was the first to bounce over to her, his lighter step finding it much easier to traverse over the drifts, with dark beady eyes gazing at the girl curiously when he got there, wondering if she was okay. The vulpine's orange fur, now much more fluffier, was quite distinct even in the darkness and he sat nearby the filly, almost like he was intent on guarding her, waiting for Sacre to catch up to him.

“Oh hey! Are you okay?” the fox-boy in question called when finally he saw the filly.

Glancing at her wings he wondered for second if it was much harder to keep your balance when you had two large appendages either side, or was that something those who had them were used to? Sacre had no clue. It took him a moment to carefully clamber over another fallen tree and negotiate himself over the snow and the icy creek, grunting when the ice gave way with a crunch, his nose going down but he held his balance—just.

"That must be cold" he offered her a lopsided smile before extending his head, locks of hair falling forwards with it, in good will "can I help you?" he gently proffered, whilst trying to keep himself upright. The Nurse couldn't help but imagine if he fell on her, they'd be all night trying to get up and Sacre was sure Inari would find that rather amusing to watch.
