I’ve become a simple souvenir of someone’s kill
Marembo dashed through the frosty undergrowth, his sights entirely on getting to his bonded. He had been close to the gate when he heard the call – lingered even still when Kiada came barreling through the borders in search of her other half. He just simply needed to get a good look, to make sure that it was a real event happening before going and getting Rexanna. And when he spotted the twins finally together was when his little black paws spun in the opposite direction as he frantically ran toward the ex-Thief.

Kianzo! Thranduil brought back! Borders!” His little squeak was audible in Rexanna’s mind. The gilded woman had been searching for a place to graze as the polecat’s voice came into her mind. Immediately, her hunger was lost and a sharp sense of partial relief and an immediate sense to feel her son again. Hooves picked up pace, despite the regret that laced her bones as she did so. Still pregnant, but barely noticeable against her thick winter coat – her pelt overcompensating for the cold of the Edge versus her years spent in the Basin. And she liked it a bit better that way, nobody outwardly asked questions when it looked as though she had just eaten a bit more than she had before.

She ran at a full pace, not even stopping to see if Tembovu had known or not. Her motherly instinct was far too strong and intent on finding her child, to see if it was true. To see if Thranduil had kept on his promise, and if so, oh how she’d owe him further. When she came into view of the large metal gate, she pressed further past it to the other side where she saw Kiada and Kianzo in some awkward tangle of a mess, Khairi had burrowed himself into the larger hyena now, not a cub anymore after all, and immediately her gaze swooped from the view of her long lost son to the Laurelin.

She probably should have stopped to see her son, but she couldn’t stop her legs from taking her to Thranduil, her jeweled head reaching up as she aimed to embrace the gilded man. “You did it, Thranduil.” She whispered, a smile breaking across her pale lips as she sought his earthy gaze. “Thank you so much, I – I just can’t believe it.” The Aurelian siren stammered, trying to find the right words to pick. She knew now that Tembovu couldn’t refuse the gilded man a place, and to her it made everything seem to fall nicely into place.

"Talk."
And like the sea—
I’m constantly changing from calm to ill.
