With his sister by his side, there's nothing the pirate cannot do. His strides are strong and sure, his heart full of joy and love for the woman that runs beside him. Even his ever-present sorrow takes a back seat to the sheer love for life that flows through him as he realises he is home now, that Helovia is the sort of place where he can really lay down his roots. Instead of planning to leave as soon as he has reclaimed his items from the thieves, Bartholomeo now thinks he will stay here for the forseeable future.

Aelfwine would probably kick his ass if he even mentioned leaving, he thinks with a grin.

Through the forest they travel, and the stag's nimble yet powerful body carries him across fallen logs and shrubbery at a headlong canter. He's not sure where he's going, but lots of others are headed in that general direction too, so he assumes there is something of interest there.

The pirate slows as he reaches a crowd, and his mossy green eyes scan around to see the source of the commotion. There's a tree, decorated with the belongings of dozens of horses, and a....turtle? How unusual. The stallion snorts and moves closer, tilting his head to question his sister. "Are talking sea-creatures the norm here, then?" he murmurs to her, bemused but intrigued. It seems the others are placing something of importance to them upon the tree, and with a frown the stag shakes his mane to reveal a small fragment of antler. He'd shed it the first time he fought, in a bout of frenetic horn-slams for dominance, and he remembers how intrigued Jack had been with the little bit of bone. It's scarred and furrowed from both the original fight and the ensuing years of wear and year, but the strange little trinket is surprisingly special to the stallion. It pains him to part with it, but he intends to take it back.

Closer he moves, until he can place the small piece of bone onto the tree. "A tine from the first time my antlers were damaged in a fight." His words are directed at the turtle, in case the seemingly sentient creature is interested. A few months ago he would have had dozens more interesting things to offer, but alas, the thieves saw fit to strip him to the bare minimum.
