Tembovu & Mbwene
The Elephant King could not help but grin and relax in the presence of the Earth God. Inwardly he marveled at the difference between the Earth and his sister, the Moon. There was some small part of him that had assumed he would find the Earth easier to be around as compared to the other gods. And, though he had spent singular time only with the Moon, he found that that small part of him was right…. and wrong.
The Earth was easy to be around. There were no double entendres, no smoky smiles or ominous looks… However (perhaps because he had spent so long in the Moon’s lands), he found that he had grown so accustomed to being on his toes around his goddess that he had grown to rather like to.
Although, there was much to be said for the deep, easy breaths he was able to breath around the Earth, despite the sly grin he was giving the Elephant King. Had the Moon offered him such a grin, the King would have likely been second-guessing his request.
But, with the Earth, the Elephant simple grinned ruefully and replied, “Thank you, Bambo Earth.” And, with a slightly herding motion of his great head, he began to walk away from the Veins, thinking on his tasks (and slightly puzzled as to why the Earth required such plants).
