Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.

In the early hours of the morning, with the glistening wet, white slush still covering the ground, Arah had headed out for a few hours of silent meditation and prayer to their lady. Yet it had been a struggle as the chill from the snow crept up through the bottom of her hooves and ankles if she remained in one place for too long. Eventually she'd managed to settle and her meditation on the cliffs had been a success and she now was returning just after mid-day, quietly humming to herself. She wondered if either Maude or Tilney were home yet and if she would find them both home waiting for her. Usually around this time Maude had finished her tasks and Tilney was never too far from their daughter's side. Wynter chirped quietly spread her wings and then leapt from her back to begin hunting. "Fine, I'll see you later then." Her bonded did not reply except to soar away into the distance, her white feathers reflecting the sun's gaze. She always did better hunting at night where she could be concealed within the thick trees of The Edge. The silver doe tilted her head back and sniffed their air, petrichor infiltrated her senses. A grin widened her lips. If it was going to rain this afternoon then surely that was a sign that Frostfall would finally be breaking and birdsong would be returning to the lands. If rain was on the way then she ought to get home and made sure Maude was safely tucked in, before it got too dark to safety travel any more.

She moved carefully, worried about her hooves slipping on the dark and wet surfaces. Eager to get home and wait out the wet weather with her family, she did her best to navigate through the clouds that were rolling over The Edge. The clouds were low sitting, permeating every meter of their home, concealing trees only a few steps ahead of you. It had moved in faster than she'd expected, she paused and listened to the sounds of rain rolling in. Splat. A thick raindrop hits her nose, the doe sniffs, chuckling and then returns her gazette eye level. Yes, she was going to have to be careful now. Setting off again she allowed for some worry about Wynter, the griffin was in her element but the doe still knew that the creature's overconfident nature often played a role in her decision making process. Still the majority of her concern laid in Tilney and Maude's whereabouts and just how long it was going to take her to navigate through this fog. Moving forward she finally came across a familiar clump of bushes, it was still a fair walk to their home but at least she now knew that she was on the right path. Steeling her nerves she continued on the familiar path, being led more by memory than her senses. Splat.

Splat. Falling faster than before and colder than ever she began to move a little faster. Splat - Splat - Splat. Now it was coming dow in sheets - freezing, cold sheets. Shivering she hurried forward, thinking of the warmth and comfort her family never failed to provide.
