Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.

"Nin mel". The words caused a shiver to roll down her spine, the chill of the rain was nearly no match. In the light provided by his lantern she studied him. As always the effect he had on her - mind body and soul - was instantaneous. "Nin emel." She replied, her voice soft while her eyes craved to see more, they wanted to see into his very inner being, into his core. After all, hers was his. For a moment all she did was breathe. In...and...out. Breathe and look upon the man that she loved. Everything he'd done for their family, everything he'd done for her. Without a doubt it was them against the world, she knew this in her heart and was always looking for a way to show her devotion to him.

Blinking she came back to the present with his giggle. It appeared that he too had momentarily been lost. The rain was still falling around them, the flame in his lantern did not produce enough heat to combat the freezing temperatures of the rain. The doe knew it was ridiculous to behave like younglings but at the same time she did not care, there was no feeling in the world like being held in someone's gaze, the way Tilney beheld her.

Her lover took to leading them through the fog and back to Trewdwellan. She loved this cave, the way Tilney had made it their home meant The Edge was just a little more special, slightly more personal for them. She gently shook her head and allowed the stone rose to fall from where it sat behind her ear. His question brought her gaze back to him, her golden orbs studied his face in silence for a moment. "Quite." She finally replied, through she had been struggling with the guilt. Seeing how much Maude had grown and how he'd been alone, having to raise their child without her. She sighed. There was no need to burden him with this however. "How do you fair?" She asked, quietly moving closer.

Without a word she ran her muzzle down his neck, pausing on his shoulders and inhaling his scent. It was the smell of home, the scent that she could remember even when she'd no smelt it for some time. Just being in such close proximity was enough to warm her from the chilly rain, the droplets dripped in a steady stream around them, the ground gradually growing wetter. Shifting slightly she peered deeper into Trewdwellan, looking for their daughter. "Is Maude here?" She asked, wondering if they were going to have to head back out into the rain to looked for their little doe.

Nin emel - My heart.
