Isopia sighed, and it wasn't entirely clear if this little conceptualization of the political and religious landscape was rhetorical or not. "The Falls has no want to fight with the Edge. Nor do I." Isopia agreed, realizing now that she likely owed Ranjiri an apology as well. Presumably in the night Aly and Tembovu had discussed Isopia's declarations, and yet the Mountain had afforded her own co-leader no such opportunity. Isopia sighed again, already weary of her title as Czarina. As Aly mentioned friendship, Isopia could feel herself wanting to squirm on her hooves. Under this new light of honesty that she and Queen had found, part of Isopia felt compelled to tell Aly that she already had a friend. Zero, and that her soul was only large enough to accommodate one relationship like this. She thought of her first real meeting with Aly, where the mare had offered her friendship and Isopia had questioned her, wondering if friendship had to be reciprocated, or if it could be one sided. Swallowing hard, Isopia instead drew her eyes up from Aly's hooves, trying to search out the mare's emerald gaze. "Do-" Isopia paused, swallowing again, her golden eyes large and suddenly very child-like, despite the girl's massive body. "-you know why Kahlua left?" The academic and curt tone which normally comprised Isopia's speech was now replaced with something that sounded more genuine and less thought-out, as if Isopia had, for once, just opened her mouth without thinking about what she would say. |
