“Eet ees my pleasure, really!” Yael replies warmly, trying to also convey that her pale friend need not apologize for anything. In truth, the foreigner was ecstatic to have been asked to ‘escort’ Erthe wherever she wanted to go. The two of them, together, may not be much of a challenge if anyone truly wanted to bother them, but the fact that the little mare was even thought of meant the absolute world to her. Feeling useful, feeling even just the tiniest bit like a mother again breathes a sense of rejuvenation into her that she never could have gotten from the side effects of spring.
And what a sight there is to see! When Erthe told her about the Wall of History, Yael was immediately intrigued. She still knows comparatively little about Xelovia, and having just joined the ranks of Philosophers and Nurses, she would be lying if she said she didn’t feel a tad out of place in the former. This should hopefully help her feel not only more at home, but able to contribute to herd life. Erthe leads her to what is, essentially, a hole in the ground. More at home in the skies that in the earth, she would have said something if her charge hadn’t seemed fearless. So down they go; as Yael’s eyes adjust the the darkness, she finds herself staring at stalagmites and stalactites, tripping one over stray rocks, but catching herself with a sheepish chuckle.
It is truly a wondrous world down here, and if Yael weren’t bent on learning, she would take the time to explore - ah, but she shall be sure to come back. So she speaks up when Erthe says where she’ll be, “Do you mind eef I join you? I xaf much to learn about Xelovia, you see…” And then, following quietly behind the pale girl, she settles in to read about this land - from the beginning, her golden being shining softly in the subterranean light.
