The rustle of shifting underbrush brought her head up in a fluid motion, not abrupt but steadily, deliberate. Erthë was of the firm belief that nothing harmful would move through the forest with so many vigilant eyes around, making her reaction more a display of deeply running, constantly unsatisfied curiosity than anything else. Pale eyes scoured the edge of the woods and came to rest upon the spindly foal, widening at first in surprise before suddenly warming into a smile. "Hi there" she said, greeting the little one with head cocked and ears erect. "Yours is a face I have not seen before... Where did you come from, tiny?" Erthë regarded the foal curiously, attempting to piece together built and coloration of the babe - a girl, as it turned out, a little filly that hardly looked to be more than a few weeks old - with the horses she knew in the herd. None came to mind however, which meant that she either did not know her family as well as she ought, or that the kid was new to the land. Finding the latter to be a much more intriguing thought, she spared a glance around the area to see if she could spot a mother... Not that she expected to, not really. Every foal she had ever known, except perhaps Murtagh and Maude, had romped around away from their parents side from the moment they learned how to run. As the herd was a safe enough place the young Sage did not feel overly concerned; it was hard to get lost around here. The family would be reunited before long, no doubt.
