Far too much time had passed and far too much had changed since the flaxen Physician of the World's Edge had last stepped into the mouth of his country.
The continent festered, poison running to each vein of their herd lands and it seemed as though father Earth had truly forsaken them. How could one so divine be so impertinently blind?

The stag of the west waded slowly over leaf and twig, shrub and root, and carefully made his way east into the forest. The lantern which remained always fixed upon his crown was dull and lightless today, reflecting no light but that which rebounded from it's gritty and cracked glass panes; perhaps it was a most accurate reflection of his unusual melancholy mood.
Peatree preferred the canopy to his friend's blue side, and would keep a watchful eye upon te stallion from above. The bat grew with speed, his intelligence ripening and his vocabulary broadening every day.

So it was as the ginger gent crossed over a cave-front creek that he heard Pea whisper through their bond.
"Yael. Strange-one!"

Tilney knew little of his colleague Yael, perhaps only that she spoke with the most wondrous accent and she was that colour of the sun. It sprung to mind that he should come to know this nurse; after all, he was (strictly speaking) her boss. He had witnessed only her comings and going's, and sadly could not recall a time when they had properly met.
The prospect of a new stranger entirely though enchanted him - how Tilney loved to meet new faces.

The chestnut father crossed over a log, leaping with a slightly more jovial air to his footfalls as he fced forwards into a clearing where his verdant gaze caught the gaze of Yael, and soon, the stranger his bonded had spoke of.
Peatree swooped between Yaels wings, clicking his tongue as he dived and fluttered his way cheekily before the similarly-coloured fillies face before he swam upwards to the canopy to perch upside-down, as all bats did, upon a twisted branch.

The keen mind of the doctor stretched out to the traveller, sensing quickly her fear and her pain. She was lost, and it appeared quite injured.
"You are in Helovia" Tilney bellowed from across the clearing in response to one of the many questions he heard among her thoughts.

Stepping forth through the fern and underbrush, the stag of the sun spoke a soft word of pure magic.
"Aiya", he breathed.
The lantern upon his antlers lit with a puff, the flame within bursting to life with a crackle and the whipping whoosh noise fire always made against the wind.
The doctor walked calmly towards the girl, knowledgable eyes searching over her cuts and scrapes.

ooc; permission granted for tilney to use his mind magic! <3
