Wandering alone was a strange sensation for Mesec, one that he found unsettling. As unnerving as he had found it to be bonded, and then again, it was even more so when neither Lucius or Lyra were with him. Tonight, as he moved through the woods with quiet steps, his companions were elsewhere. Lucius was attempting to teach Lyra how to hunt, and Mesec wasn’t entirely convinced it was going very well. But neither of them had called out for him just yet, so he supposed it wasn’t going terribly. The misty forest reminded him of the Edge, giving some feeling of comfort, and Mesec wandered aimlessly - enjoying the peace that came through Helovia at night. His silver markings glowed softly - making him stand out in the darkness. All shadows and moonlight - feeling very much like a ghost waiting to reconnect with his body. Or, in Mesec’s case, with his family. And until then, he was just existing. But Mesec wasn’t the only thing that stood out in these woods - there were strange creatures about and he discovered one curled at the base of a tree. It looked like a cat, but with colouring that reminded him of the Throat and the Diviner’s fire. It looked… frightened? Maybe? Without Lyra or Lucius with him, Mesec supposed he might as well just ask the cat. It didn’t look like any creature he had ever seen in Helovia before, and there were always strange creatures out and about giving gifts, so there seemed to be a pretty good chance it would answer him. “Are you alright?” His voice was quiet and calm as he lowered his head, watching the strange cat with obvious curiosity, but he didn’t move any closer. Though he certainly wanted to help in any way that he could, he didn’t think it wise to go sticking his head in the face of strange felines. That seemed to be a good way to get a good scratch to the muzzle. |
